RINEX is actually the standardized format, a RINEX file being a file respecting this format. In the file, for each recorded epoch, there is a list of the available observables value, especially the code and phase value, for every tracked satellite at the recording time. Those values are used as distances between the satellite and the receiver.
RINEX The Receiver Independent Exchange Format Version 3.04 International GNSS Service (IGS), RINEX Working Group and Radio Technical Commission for Maritime Services Special Committee 104 (RTCM-SC104) November 23, 2018 Acknowledgement: RINEX Version 3.02, 3.03 and 3.04 are based on RINEX Version 3.01, which was developed by: Werner Gurtner, Astronomical Institute of the University of Bern.
The final output of a navigation receiver is usually its position, speed or other related physical quantities. However, the calculation of these quantities are based on a series of measurements from one or more satellite constellations. Although receivers calculate positions in real time, in many cases it is interesting to store intermediate measures for later use. RINEX is the standard format.RINEX files Receiver INdependent EXchange format files contain raw satellite navigation system data relative to a specified interval of time (typically one calendar day). They allow users to add corrections to their data in post-processing, improving its accuracy. The standard name format for RINEX files is: ssssdddh.yyt, where: ssss is a the marker name of the ground station where the.Ordnance Survey produces digital and paper maps and OS MasterMap for business, leisure, government and education, with quality Crown copyright maps of Great Britain.
Homework No. 3. GS 609 Surveying with Satellites. Winter Quarter, 2000. February 15, 2001. Due: March 1, 2001. Given RINEX observation and navigation data files for a stationary GPS receiver with unknown location, perform the following: Linearize the pseudorange observation equation and compute the partial derivatives using satellite coordinates from (2) below (note that the approximate.Read More

MERGE TWO RINEX FILES. Dennis Milbert Updated: 2008-apr-13 RINEX files are interesting animals. The identity of columns varies from file to file. The satellites are in any order, and can change order from epoch to epoch. And, of course, data can start and stop at any time, and be logged at different rates at different sites. RINEX is easy to write, but it takes work to read. The program.Read More
A subset of stations that are part of the International GPS Service (IGS) submit hourly RINEX observation files in addition to the daily files to be used for near real time applications. Ideally, concatenating the hourly files will result in the original 24 hour file. If this is indeed the case, there is no need for submitting every observation twice and the concatenated hourly files can.Read More
